Elpida Tsindos
PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST
I came across the world of Psychology while completing my undergraduate in Arts at Melbourne University, and I have been hooked ever since. I find this world so fascinating. It fits so well with my personality, which is naturally empathetic, as well as being a keen listener and helper. I have always valued meeting new people and learning about people’s different lenses of life.
“I believe in the power of the client-centred approach and will always be guided my clients in terms of what does and does not work as a therapeutic approach.”
How I help
I am a registered Provisional Psychologist and hold a Masters degree in Professional Psychology. I have had experience working in adolescents and young adults with anxiety, depressive, and obsessive-compulsive disorders and have a special interest in ADHD.
I prioritize working collaboratively with my clients to improve their wellbeing in a practical and achievable way. Currently, I am working in both the assessment and therapy space, and value wholistic healthcare to ensure flexibility to suit the client’s needs and personal values. Therapeutic approaches I like to use include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.
Why I’m here
I am completing my internship as a Provisional Psychologist at Boutique Psychology as it allows me to engage with a diverse range of clientele and practise vital skills in psychological assessment. Furthermore, Boutique Psychology is a welcoming, warm, and caring workplace that looks after both staff and clients and maintains a high level of respect in communication. I feel safe here, and clients should feel safe too!
Things I love to do
I grew up as a performer outside of school hours, and I have a passion for dance. I trained as a ballerina for over 10 years before I decided to take an academic pathway. I also trained in Jazz and Hip hop! To this day I engage in casual classes in Hip Hop, Ballet, and sometimes Brazilian Samba as a fun alternative; this is my self-care. Additionally, in my spare time I like to watch the TV show Friends, a million times over!
